Science Podcast Case Study

Conversations on AFM is a branded science podcast developed and produced by Zeeks as part of our science marketing and science podcast production services. The podcast focuses on atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning probe microscopy (SPM), featuring in-depth conversations with leading researchers, instrument developers, and industry experts shaping the future of nanoscale characterisation.

Due to the highly technical nature of AFM and SPM technologies, this project required deep domain expertise and rigorous editorial preparation. Our team conducted extensive background research to ensure each episode was scientifically accurate, technically current, and relevant to expert audiences. This preparation enabled interviews that moved beyond introductory explanations and delivered genuine insight into AFM methodologies, applications, and technological innovation.

While the subject matter is complex, Conversations on AFM was intentionally designed as an accessible and engaging science podcast. Episodes were structured to appeal not only to academic researchers, but also to industry professionals, instrument users, and scientifically literate audiences interested in nanotechnology and surface analysis. Zeeks’ scientific background allowed us to translate complex AFM principles and data interpretation workflows into clear, compelling narratives without compromising technical precision.

As part of our science marketing approach, we worked closely and collaboratively with Bruker’s internal teams to align podcast themes, episode narratives, and messaging with strategic communication objectives. This ensured that each episode reflected current technological developments, real-world use cases, and emerging trends in AFM and SPM, while reinforcing Bruker’s position as a key opinion leader in nanoscale imaging and measurement.

To maximise reach and impact, the podcast was amplified through coordinated promotion across social media channels and newsletters. In addition, Zeeks supported the series with dedicated science blog content designed to drive targeted traffic to the Bruker podcast landing page, strengthening SEO performance and extending audience engagement beyond the audio format.

Impact and Outcomes

Conversations on AFM successfully increased awareness of AFM and SPM technologies and their applications across research and industry. The podcast strengthened Bruker’s positioning as a thought leader in atomic force microscopy, reached a broad international audience, and demonstrated how science podcast production can effectively support scientific marketing and brand positioning in highly specialised technical domains.

This project exemplifies how high-quality science podcast production can be embedded within a strategic science marketing framework. At Zeeks, our combination of subject-matter expertise, editorial rigour, and professional podcast production experience enables us to create credible, value-driven science communication that delivers measurable marketing impact.
